thumb Especially when facing dramatic and unexpected situations, Gordy's reliable response was to remain calm and to assess the situation for the positive opportunities that it presented. So it was when Gordy learned from his doctors that he had mere weeks to live. Gordy prioritized and determined how he could best use the remaining time in a purposeful way. His decision: He would write a book about end of life as he was about to experience it.

Gordy's hope was to spur discussion about end-of-life opportunities. He wanted his book to be the beginning of a new conversation, where ongoing dialogue is encouraged and open to people of all faiths and backgrounds.
